Every year, people gather for an evening which begins with a potluck dinner at 6:30pm (the Library contributes Stew Leonard’s fried chicken). Live music begins at 7pm, with other activities at hand such as: badminton, chalk art, parachute fun, and a limbo line. Children roast s’mores at the campfire for dessert or partake of treats from the ice cream truck which makes a welcome appearance. Parents can enjoy themselves and socialize while their children have a blast. Many families pitch their tents (sometimes for the very first time!) and stay all night. This tradition has grown from three tents the first year to an average of 18 tents in recent years. Other families come just for the evening’s meal and festivities.
Registration encouraged to coordinate potluck.
